The BaseCamp converts heat into usable electricity for large-format cooking and charging. Using only fallen branches or small pieces of firewood, make wood-fired meals and charge devices all at the same time. It's a smart alternative to fossil-fueled stoves, creating an elevated cooking fire that burns smarter than any fire you're used to.
BioLite’s patented core technology captures waste heat from the fire through a heat probe attached to the orange powerpack.
Heat is converted into usable electricity via a thermoelectric generator. This powers a fan and sends surplus electricity to a USB charging port.
The internal fan forces air back into the burn chamber dramatically improving combustion and creating a cleaner, more efficient burn.

This is one awesome piece of high tech, environmentally friendly, well built technology! So much so, our family is currently looking forward to the arrival of our recently ordered Pizza Dome! Paraphrasing the words of the late, great musician Jimmy Morrison" Thank you BioLite, You Lit our fire!

Easy to start a fire and once the fan kicks in the fire gets hot very quickly. Using cast iron to cook some sausage and eggs was quick and easy. A quart of water came to a boil in 6:00 minutes once the stove had reached temperature. I have grilled steaks, pork chops and polish sausages on my Basecamp model and it is as easy as using a gas grill, only tastier. I am planning a trip out to the orchards to scavenge some wood from fruit trees cuttings and see if that wood will impart even more flavor. Great product, as well made as my Campstove model only easier to feed fuel to once cooking gets started. I think this is one of those game changing products for campers, in case of emergencies, or those wanting to live more off grid.
Alec and Jonathan begin the weekend project of “making a wood camping stove,” and CampStove proof of concept is born.
Jonathan and Alec learn about clean cookstove movement and HomeStove work begins; BioLite bifurcates the business and develops Parallel Innovation model.
BioLite hits the market and CampStoves ship to customers around the world.
Pilot programs begin for the launch of the BioLite HomeStove across India and Uganda.
BioLite raises over $1MM on Kickstarter with the BaseCamp Stove, BioLite’s outdoor recreational grill, inspired by the HomeStove.
BioLite expands beyond stoves into lighting with the launch of the NanoGrid system featuring breakthrough edge-lighting technology.
BioLite’s emission-reducing HomeStove has been issued carbon credits for its performance; BioLite uses the first batch of credits to erase its entire carbon history and commit to carbon neutrality for the future of the company.
