      Makes a complete cooking appliance out of my base camp stove!

      So far, I've cooked tenderloin and potatoes, and at another time baked corn bread, both on fairly cold days, (low 20'sF). You do need to keep an eye on the fuel/temperature but I was still able to do some outside chores while I cooked. I am impressed at how well the stove/lid combination maintains a good cooking temperature. The hardwood smoke flavor adds to the taste. I'm looking to add some sort of rack so I can cook a second dish such as bread above the entree at the same time.

      Made the perfect Christmas gift!

      This made the perfect Christmas gift for my husband. It was one of those things he really wanted, but wouldn't buy for himself. He is already in love with the basecamp but this was the cherry on top. The dome alone makes the stove more efficient, allowing meat to cook through without drying out. The pizza stone gets nice and hot and our pizza crust was perfectly crispy. We have learned there is definitely an art to cooking with fire as the temp is somewhat hard to maintain. Having a thermometer built into the dome really helps with that! Our first attempt at pizza was a success and we look forward to perfecting the art of cooking with fire using our new pizza dome.
