Valued throughout the world in many different cultures for its amazing ability to withstand constant clipping and shaping , Buxus is grown extensively as a hedging and topiary plant. Evergreen with small attractive dark green leaves, English Box remains the most popular hedging plant and can be clipped as low as 30cm when established or left to grow to 8 metres!

  • HABIT: Mounding, dense, full to the ground, taller than wide.  The shrub is rotund in overall shape as well as in leaf shape.

  • USES: hedging, topiary, screening
  • PRUNE:spring, summer, autumn
  • FRAGRANCE: characteristic odor of boxwood

  • RATE OF GROWTH: Medium
  • CARE:Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. 
  • NATIVE HABITAT: Buxus sempervirens is native to Europe, as well as north Africa, from Great Britain to Turkey.
