ESCALLONIA | Hopley's Gold


Escallonia Hopley's Gold  grows to approximately 1.5 to 3 metres in height with attractive pink flowers and small glossy lime gold leaves its hard to dislike this plant. Also suited to topairy, Escallonia is a welcome change to some more traditional topairy choices such as buxus as it offers the additional advantage of flowers.

  • POSITION; Full Sun to part shade
  • SOIL TYPE: Loam, Chalk, Clay, well drained
  • PH REQUIREMENTS: Acid, Slightly Alkaline, Neutral
  • SIZE: Height: 1 - 2.5m Width: 1.5m
  • EXPOSURE: Exposed or sheltered
  • FLOWERS: Pink bell shaped flowers in clusters from late spring to late summer.
  • PRUNE: As required to maintain shape, recommended after flowering
