Lamb's Ears is a very hardy and strong-growing perennial, with thick white-wooly foliage,hence the name. Valued as a dense, low growing, spreading bedding plant. Lamb's Ears is a great filler / groundcover and as a border perennial, with pink-purple flower spikes during the summer season although these mostly go unnoticed because of the unique leaves. The foliage provides striking silvery color and unique velvety soft textural qualities.



  • POSITION Full sun ,part shade
  • SOIL TYPE:  well drained, rich soil
  • FROST HARDY: yes, may die down over a very cold winter and revive again in warmer months.
  • DROUGHT TOLERANT: yes. once established
  • SIZE:  low bedding plants - 20cm
  • FLOWERS: spring through summer, purplish pink
  • USES: borders, foliage interest, containers, rockeries, low edging, bedding plants
  • PRUNE: remove spent flowers
  • FRAGRANCE: slight
  • EVERGREEN: may die down a little in very hot or very cold weather.
  • CARE:Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Feed with a general purpose fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Mulch in early summer. take care when overhead watering as this may cause leaf rot.
