The Chilean Guava is an amazing plant which has been very little used up to now. The plant has small evergreen leaves, small bell shaped flowers and bright red berries which are edible. This is an ideal substitute for box hedging and would be a perfect option for a herb or vegetable garden edging.

  • POSITION: full sun to part shade
  • SOIL TYPE: Moist well drained
  • PH REQUIREMENTS: Slightly acid but tolerant of most soil types
  • SIZE:  Height to 1m, width to 120cm (can be kept clipped much lower if required)
  • SCENT: yes
  • FROST TOLERANT: Yes to -6
  • USES: Hedging (plant 1/2 m apart) Edible berries, Shrubbery planting, Topiary
