An attractive climbing plant, Ficus Pumila is an evergreen plant, growing steadily throughout the entire year. Used extensively in both commercial and domestic gardens for its ability to cover parts of the garden where greenery is required to grow on masonry, brickwork or even timber.
This is the small leaved variety most commonly seen in Australian cities growing on brick walls and boundaries.
Of creeping fig and similar ground covers and vines, it is often said: "The first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps, the third year it leaps."
Bear this in mind if your climber tends to sulk for a little while after you have planted it.
